Today has been a great day. AJ woke up after 8:00 A.M., which automatically begins the day on a positive note. Then we headed out to my parents' house to spend time with my sisters. Jessica surprised me with a wonderful gift: A 2010 Kansas State Football media guide inscribed "To Gina, Thanks for being a great fan. -Bill Snyder." We ate an "organic" lunch (as Mom called it). All of the food on the table was home-raised. She was very proud of herself. Even the cherry pie consisted of cherries that grew on my dad's trees that she had hand-pitted. Jacy cut both my and AJ's hair. Then my friend, Jenny, stopped over for a visit. On the way home, we stopped by and visited Barry at work. AJ was thrilled to sit on the forklift. He also loves all the tools and gadgets and machinery around the shop.
There was one downfall of the day, however. My sisters taught AJ the "Monkeys on the bed" jingle. I heard a racket coming from Jessica's bedroom and found the three of them on their knees jumping up and down on her bed. ARGHH!!
Days like today make me appreciate the simple things in life. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family!
AJ loved playing "Monkey on the Bed" with his aunts. Such good influences, they are!
